The American Roman Catholic Church -- well, just say the Church catholic -- has lost a great scholar and advocate. Avery Cardinal Dulles has died at the age of 90. Here is an obituary.

We have lost a dear, gentle man with a shining intellect and a humble commitment to serving his Lord. Truly this was a man of the church. Rest eternal grant him, O Lord and let light perpetual shine upon him.
